Bio
Originating from Rye, NY, Dr. Lopez is an average Latina woman who is passionate about helping others heal unresolved painful experiences, all of which can be impeding their growth. Listening to individuals sequales has fueled her passion and further solidified her ethical inquiry about trust and community. Understanding the human psyche and supporting clients in learning mindfully about their own boundaries and narrative processing is the path towards healing and teaching others how to show up for you.
Looking back at my work some of the most rewarding moments are the micro-level work (1 to 1), only fueling my passion and ethical integrity. Adapting evidence-based practice models and teaching skills are all part of her creative methods to help my clients and also with engaging them with their many misunderstood experiences. Helping communities to be mindful of their present day functioning and take a pause instead of autopiloting and ignoring pain. Her empathic stance, commitment to learning, and fostering brave spaces allow for clients to heal and grow from any adversity.
My Approach
I pride myself in remembering details and using a multimodal approach to fit my client’s and their needs. Actively listening, being mindful with intent has shown to help many of my client’s uncover their own self identified, destructive patterns. Being part of the process in helping others heal from their past is critical in my work. The main part of my approach is learning to self validate, Empowering my clients and helping them be objective and mindful of their own needs in addition to others. Teaching clients that many truths can coexist is way to help client’s critically think of complex issues society ignores. The central goal with my approach is for client’s to recognize their goals and power and limit self destructive patterns. Helping clients identify habits or underpinnings impeding their growth is valuable and important. The approach is critical to my work it is about making sure clients are felt seen and heard so they can gain vital aspects of therapy which is is introspection of the self.
